Board Certified in Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Behavior Neurology and Neuropsychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine, and Clinical Psychopharmacology.
Ricardo K. Espaillat, M.D. is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in the area of General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Psychosomatic Medicine (consultation & Liaison). He is board certified in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties, and board certified in Advance Clinical Psychopharmacology. He attended the medical school at the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) Where he graduated with the highest honor (Summa Cum Laude), and completed his Psychiatry residency training at the New York Medical College, Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. Dr. Espaillat also completed a fellowship in Child and adolescent Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, as well as a fellowship in Neuropsychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine.
About Rega Mental Health Center
REGA Mental Health Center, a mental health facility for adolescents and adults, was created to meet the needs of those patients who require an intensive treatment program under a structured and safe environment, but that do not require an inpatient or residential treatment.
We treat a variety of conditions that include: Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Psychosis, Severe ADHD and ODD, Substance Abuse, and others. We also offer a program specially designed for patients with Eating Disorders.
We strive to offer a high quality individualized treatment to our patients. Our goal is to empower them to develop the necessary awareness and self help abilities to experience a smoother return to the stressors of their everyday life. We also encourage the creation and/or strengthening of family and social support networks.
